A Day in the Life as a Fertility Nurse

Neeta Verma working as a fertility nurse since 3 years at a leading Fertility clinic. She would like to express her journey as a fertility nurse, her responsibilities and role as a fertility nurse in a few simple words.

Day starts with a schedule of patients. As fertility nurses, are born to help people. Our prime responsibility as a Fertility Nurse is to ensure that our patients have all the information they need for a smooth and wonderful experience as they go through an emotional roller coaster of their fertility treatments. We act as a patients’ "liaison" to the doctor. I am their therapist or the “go to” person whenever they need something during their fertility treatment processes.

We keep their medications ready and let them know what to expect on their appointments with us. We respond to their queries straight-forwardly, provide suggestions as per their requirements. These are a few of my responsibilities as a fertility nurse.

As a fertility nurse we are always available for our patients and support them in their rough phase. We make sure that every patient and her partner understands what and how everything is going to happen. We share a trusted relationship with our patients to make them feel cared and precious. I usually end my day receiving calls and planning my schedule for the next day.

In short, we work for our patients and maintain a close rapport with them. We feel blessed and obliged by working as a fertility nurse as it gives me a chance to improve our patient’s lives.

We receive e-mails from previous patients expressing their gratitude for what we have done to create their family.

We strongly believe that this is one of the best career choices for anyone who is passionate for nursing and wish to bring a change in people’s lives. This can be a nerve-racking job sometimes as it demands lot of encouragement and empathy.

We are humbly grateful for the opportunity to work as a fertility nurse. We continue to do my utmost best as a nurse, so that we can help our patients in making their lives better.
